The Case of Private Manning

PFC Bradley Manning is the American serviceman who has been detained unlawfully for months without trial proceedings until very recently for alledgedly being the major whistleblower that uncovered war crimes by the U.S. military. Whether he is a whistleblower or not, exposing war crimes or other nefarious dealings is not a crime, but exposing these crimes is essentially trying to bring justice and to stop future crimes, and therefore it is a moral duty. Therefore Manning should be freed, barring any serious allegations not involving whistleblowing. Servicemen and servicewomen should tip their hats to anyone from the service that has the morality, decency and courage to call out and expose anyone or any organization that commits war crimes and thereby defends the integrity of the majority that are called to arms. It's telling that the Justice Dept. is more fixated on prosecuting whistleblowers than just about anyone else, including those that get away with some infamous war crimes.
