Hypocrisy in Pittsburgh

Iran, again ... the world powers met in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for an international summit and threatened sanctions against Iran for alledgedly building a secret nuclear underground plant to produce fissile materials for a bomb. This is all well and good on the part of the world powers, to a degree; almost nobody wants any country to start producing nuclear weapons, or more weapons if they already have them. However, how come three countries that are not a part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (Israel, India and Pakistan) and clearly already have nuclear weapons get an absolute free pass from the world powers? N. Korea is a separate case, because they have been in and out of the NPT and are presently withdrawn from it, but they are treated more or less like Iran. Picking on particular countries that the world powers don't like is tough bargaining, but the cynicism surrounding world power politics will prevail until the international community decides to start acting even-handedly, across the board.
